Every year, people who use the U.S. Family Health Plan (USFHP) get a special chance to review their health coverage. This time period is called Open Season. If you or someone in your family is a USFHP member, it’s important to understand what this means and how to make the most of it.
If you’re happy with us, that’s good news too. You don’t have to make any changes. Your current plan will continue as it is.
What is Changing for you in 2026?
Starting January 2026, dental and vision plans for USFHP TRICARE members are available through the FEDVIP program. Please be mindful that your current vision or dental plan with USFHP ends in March 2026. It is important for you to review the FEDVIP plans now. Any changes you make will start on January 1, 2026.
FEDVIP Benefits
The Federal Benefits Open Season for 2026 runs from November 10 to December 8, 2025, and this is when you can sign up for, change, or cancel a FEDVIP dental or vision plan. If you’re enrolled in a TRICARE health plan, you may be eligible for vision coverage, and retired service members can get both dental and vision benefits.
- Dates: November 10 – December 8, 2025
- Eligibility:
○ Vision: Active duty family members, National Guard and Reserve members and their families, and retired uniformed service members are eligible if they are enrolled in a TRICARE health plan.
○ Dental: Retired uniformed service members, survivors, and their families are eligible.
- How to enroll: Visit BENEFEDS.gov/military to research, compare plans, and enroll.
Taking a few minutes to review the FEDVIP plans now can save time, money, and stress later.
