Your health is important to us! We are partnering with LetsGetChecked to provide at-home testing for colon cancer and a blood test for diabetics that measures blood sugar levels over the past three months. LetsGetChecked helps individuals monitor their health and diagnose certain conditions, privately and confidentially through home lab test kits and healthcare solutions.
Colon Cancer
Colon cancer, also known as colorectal cancer, is any cancer that affects the colon and rectum. General symptoms include abdominal discomfort, bloating, and irregular restroom visits. However, some symptoms may be caused by a medical condition that is not cancer. It often has no symptoms but can be detected by screening.
Diabetes
Type 1 diabetes, also known as insulin-dependent diabetes, is when the body does not produce enough insulin. Type 2 diabetes is when your body does not use the insulin produced properly and is the most common form of diabetes. Another type is gestational diabetes, it develops in pregnant women who have never had the condition.
How It Works
The colon cancer screening test kit looks at a small human waste sample for early signs of colon cancer. This is done in the privacy of your home and does not require any prep like other colon cancer screenings do.
The test for Diabetes is a Hemoglobin A1c (A1c or HbA1c) that looks at a small sample of blood from a fingerstick to measure your average blood sugar over the past three months. Your A1c results help your doctor adjust your treatment plan, including medications, if needed.
If you qualify for these tests, be on the lookout for a kit in the mail later this month. These tests are easy and only take a few minutes to complete and come at no cost to you. Your results will be sent to you and your PCP.
