Thanksgiving holiday falls in November and marks a time of the year when families and loved ones come together to express gratitude for their shared blessings.  Some of the greatest blessings are the presence of family and loved ones, as well as our safety and well-being.  It is the official start of the holiday season -- a season that offers the opportunity for families to spend more time with each other.

November 11^th marks Veterans Day, a day where our country honors our American Veterans’ patriotism and selfless sacrifice for the common good.  US Family Health Plan raises a special salute all veterans who have served our country with honor and distinctive service.

Many health professionals recommend seasonal influenza (flu) vaccines as a preventive measure. But are they safe? Are they necessary? Do they actually work? Or are they a shot in the dark? The debate rages on, but the U.S. Center for Disease Control still urges families to get vaccinated against flu every year -- not only to safeguard their own health, but to prevent a large scale epidemic from taking hold in the U.S.
