Nothing says summer like great family trips to the lake, the pool and the beach! These summer trips make us recall fun, laughter, the smell of the beach, laying back with a great book, and just feeling the warm sun caress your face. They are about building sand castles on the beach, fishing, and other great family activities.

The 4th of July is really the kick-off of the summer season. Families are either returning from the extended weekend holiday, jetting off on a quick getaway or anticipating an upcoming family vacation. Whichever bucket you fall in, know that as quick as the season comes… after the 4th of July it rapidly goes by. Before you know it, you will be doing back to school shopping! Current U.S. statistics show that over 70% of adults will experience a traumatic event at some point in their lives. Needless to say, this is also true in the military community. Post-traumatic stress disorder can affect anyone, at any stage in life, and is an extremely important issue that deserves national attention. For this reason, the U.S. Senate in 2014, named the month of June PSTD Awareness Month.
